This four-song offering is the latest from N.E. Hertzberg and teases the coming of a new full-length (or two) in 2018. In an ongoing effort to translate his loud and highly improvised live performances to a semi-replicable album, "WORLD OF AMATEURS" utilizes Hertzberg's growingly signature grainy minimalist ambience as much as it does pulsing machinery on the verge of collapse. The songs presented here were primarily written during lunch breaks on a cell phone and is texturally based on looping bleak field recordings and makeshift samples.

Although the album is mostly instrumental, Hertzberg is highly concerned with a concept and always writes albums with certain themes in mind. “WORLD OF AMATEURS” is no different, and has a philosophy that rings true in these trying political and social times:
No one really knows what we’re doing with regard to anything, ever. Besides animal instinct, there’s no roadmap in this life on how to be an artist, a lover, a worker, a parent, or anything in between. Be patient and look out for those who need your support and know that they might be just as confused as you are about this life.
